Dodici Corde Guitar Duet was formed in 2008 and joins together the talents of musicians Danielle Saxon Reeves and Mark Willetts. The duo seeks to promote the repertoire of the Early Romantic Guitar, with a contemporary yet historically informed approach. They enjoy exploring the little played duet works of composers such as Giuliani, Sor, Carulli, Diabelli, von Call and de L’Hoyer giving audiences a rare opportunity to hear these neglected works on period instruments; Mark owns an 1832 Panormo and Danielle plays a French Guitar made c1840. With over forty five years playing experience between them, they have appeared as soloists and ensemble players in performances all over the UK; including appearances at The Royal Festival Hall at The South Bank; The Bolivar Hall, London; Hagley Music Festival; The CBSO centre in Birmingham; The Royal Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool and Droitwich Festival . They are both involved in the Midlands Fretted Orchestra; Mark is a member of the classical guitar section in the award winning ensemble which Danielle founded in 2001. They also share a love of education, both being accomplished teachers in their own right. Concert programmes are developed from the following repertoire: Sor : "L'Encouragement" Fantaisie Opus 34; Souvenir de Russie Opus 63 Diabelli : Serenade Opus 63 Coste : Scherzo & Pastorale de Call : Serenade Opus 39 Scheidler : Sonata in D major Neuland : Andantino & Rondo Opus 8 de Lhoyer : Duo Concertant Opus 31 no 3 Mertz : Deutsche Weise, Barcarolle, Impromptu, Der Ball Carulli : Nocturne no3 Opus 143
